The new driver features an overhauled and optimized FireWire audio streaming engine, with particular attention paid to optimization for multiprocessor computers. The driver installer has been improved. It will automatically detect and offer to remove any previous standalone AudioFire or RIP drivers. The new installer also eliminates the need for Windows to reinstall your devices after a driver update. The FireWire Analyzer (formerly ASIO Analyzer) now supports multiple units, as well as automatic plug-and-play device detection. This new, unified driver supports using multiple AudioFire and RIP devices simultaneously on the same Windows computer. Previously, both the AudioFire and the RIP drivers were installed separately, so that there was no way to use both within a single audio application. The new unified architecture brings the two together, allowing you to use any combination of RIP and AudioFire units. Even though the RIP does not support synchronizing to an external clock, the new software adds a new variable clock mode to the RIP. The driver automatically measures the sample rate of the RIP and adjusts it to keep it in sync with any other RIP or AudioFire connected to the system. Finally, the RIP console and firmware have been improved. It now supports switching between hex mode and the new stereo live mode, which enables your RIP to work just like the charging adapter that comes with the guitar. The new software also gives you more control over how the RIP charges the guitars battery. Other changes include: ASIO
